It sometimes feels like the number of scams spreading across Facebook is never ending. Here is the latest one that was brought to my attention by members of Sophos’s Facebook page:

lol What true pain both are having at this moment.

It’s another survey scam, of course, which earns commission for the folks who created the webpages and kicked off the campaign in the first place.

A quick check on Wikipedia revealed that she is a model and Italian TV hostess, whose biggest contribution to popular culture is that she had something of a wardrobe malfunction on live TV during a soccer show called “Diretta Stadio”.

Clearly, the spammers behind the latest scam spreading quickly across Facebook were better acquainted with Miss Fruscio than me. I think perhaps I would like to keep it that way.

Wikipedia is now an undeniably good source of information on almost any topic. In order to continue improving, the community-edited site needs a continuous flow of volunteer editors willing to put time and energy into making new edits. And studies show that people are more willing to do that if they have been shown support by other people on the site.

Wikipedia’s getting pretty well-filled out, so compliments are getting harder to come by and criticism is more available than ever. In order to step up the love, Wikipedia announced tonight that it has begun experimenting with and plans on pushing site-wide on Wednesday a new feature: the WikiLove Button.

There are various different ways of getting more followers on Twitter.

The easiest method is to be a celebrity. It doesn’t matter if you tweet anything interesting, you’ll probably find a fair number of people will follow you regardless.

Alternatively, you could try to tweet something that people find useful or amusing or informative on a regular basis. If you put in the hours, write great tweets and be yourself then you may find others are happy to follow you and engage with you online.
